PAT TESTING ENGINEER
t2technical
is a successful company specialising in the field of portable appliance
testing (pat testing) We are a small company with big ideas and a great future! You can find out more about our company and
the services we provide by clicking on the links above.
We
are currently on the lookout for another PAT Testing Engineer to join our team.
Duties will include:-
- travelling to customer's premises
- carrying out inspections and tests on portable appliances
- completing results forms on paper and computer
- providing advice and information for our customers
We are a small but very busy company, and the workload
is high. The person we're looking for will thrive in a hectic
environment, and be able to work 'smart' as well as 'hard'. If you do the job right, no two days will be the same!
If you're the person we're looking for, you will be bright, self motivated, highly organised with a tenacious attention
to detail.
You will be on our 'front line;' in other words you will be the public face of our company. A good command of English and a confident but pleasant manner are a must. Naturally you'll be able to communicate effectively
and confidently with people at all levels.
You might not (yet) be an expert in pat testing - our intensive training programme will soon teach you all you need to know about that. On the other hand we can't give you common sense, 'people skills' or a friendly personality - hopefully these are qualities you already possess. Of course we will give you full training as you need it, and your work will
be supervised by the Technical Director of the company.
Currently we are snowed under with work and need engineers in various locations. You will be based from home, and we anticipate that most of the work will be within a couple of hours drive from your base. We do, however, offer a national service, and you may find yourself travelling across the whole of the UK, especially if we are busy in other areas. You will on occasions be required to stay overnight if you are working away from home.
We will provide you with a comfortable vehicle and will organise and pay for hotels / meals etc as appropriate.
We will require a flexible working programme - most of our engineers work between 35 and 40 hours per week, but this may be made up of 3 x 13 hour days rather than 5 x 8 hour days. Our customers require flexibility from us, and we will do our best to accommodate their needs as well as yours. Of course the option to work extra hours will be there too, if you want it!
Current salary is based on an hourly rate of £8.50 per hour, although this is due to increase shortly. You will be paid on a 4-weekly basis, with a guaranteed minimum of 140 hours for each 4 week period. This equates to a guaranteed minimum of 35 hours per week. In reality you will probably work more! You may be required to work long hours on some days, with appropriate time off in lieu.
Holiday
entitlement will be 20 days plus statutory bank holidays (28 days in total) per year.
Other benefits, (sick pay, maternity pay etc) will be in accordance
with statutory entitlement. A flexitime scheme will be operated.
We aim
to be an equal opportunities employer and will not discrimate
against any applicant on any grounds, including race, gender,
sexual orientation, religion, age or disability.
