| A
one-day practical training workshop for colleagues
who wish to carry out portable appliance testing (PAT)
within their business or organisation. Delegates will
be shown how to test a wide range of appliances commonly
found in their working environment and how to find
expert advice if an item fails.
The
workshop will look at a variety of appropriate inspection
and test procedures as well as dealing with common
faults and defects. You'll get hands-on experience
of pat testing a variety of common appliances using
a range of pat testing equipment from various manufacturers.
If you have already purchased a pat tester, we can
work with you on the course to ensure that you can
get the best from it. Alternatively we can give you
unbiased advice on the best machines to buy.
An
in-house course is perfect if you have more than 4
people to train - we can train up to 12 people if
you have that many staff who want to learn. All we
ask of you is a large comfortable room to carry out
the training; It needs to be quite large with lots
of tables for the practical work. If you don't have
a dedicated training room we will be happy to advise
you further.
This
is the standard programme - it can be amended to suit
your requirements if you prefer.

that they should follow any rules made their employer
especially with regard to frequency of testing, or
particular test methods
