Looking for the Cheapest Pat Testing?

There is no doubt that the PAT testing industry is very competitive at the moment - with hundreds of new companies offering a pat testing service. Naturally, this drives prices (and often quality) downwards!

The simple fact is that there are many factors which will determine how much you will pay - here we highlight one such important point - detachable mains leads!

This sounds like a simple point - why does it make such a difference?

Detachable Mains Leads!
Nowadays, almost all appliances come with a detachable, or removable mains lead. Examples are computers, printers, kettles, radios and many more. The latest guidance requires that these leads need to be tested and logged separately. However, most companies charge seperately as well! So when you thought you had 200 items, you actually get charged for 400!

A quick search on the internet will reveal lots of low priced pat testing companies, but when we asked them, they told us that they charge seperately for these leads. So, in effect, you get charged twice for every appliance! Now you know why they can afford to drop their prices so much!

If you ask for a written quote, the point about mains leads may be hidden in the small print - leaving you with a nasty suprise when you get the bill!

Our normal procedure is to include detachable mains leads in the price we quote; so, for example, if we quote a price of £1.80 per appliance, this equates to 90p for the device and 90p for the lead. But it may not be obvious at first glance that our price is cheaper, especially if a competitor gives you a quote of £1.20 per item!

You will easily find companies on the web offering to guarantee the lowest price per item, but remember it's the FINAL price you pay when the work is complete that really matters!

When comparing our prices remember:-

• We will be open and honest with you regarding our pricing structure; normally we do not charge for detachable leads but if we do quote on a 'per item' basis we will make this clear in our quotation.
• We do not charge extra for changing fuses, replacing or rewiring plugs (subject to reasonable limits)
• We do not charge extra for out of hours working
• Printed reports and certificates are included in the price.

Remember - Whilst a price per unit is helpful in comparing our prices, it’s the final bill that matters - and this is where we think you'll find us the most competitive. If you’ve had other quotes, let us know. It’s almost certain that hidden charges and extras will make their final bill more costly than ours; and we promise there will be NO nasty surprises when you get our bill!
